Glenda,

The Elliff's migrated in the late 1830's into McDonald county to be near relatives who were of Cherokee descent and traveled on what was known as "The Trail of Tears". Their relatives were placed on a Indian reservation in Oklahoma. I would have to check my book on the town of Elliff. However, with a name like that it is related.
