Elizabeth (Bishop) Elliott dau. of Roger (Sr.) & Avis (Jenkins) Bishop from Maryland to N.C.
In the "Marylanders to Carolina" Migration of Marylanders to North and South Carolina Prior to 1800 by Henry C. Penden, Jr. Arch.929.3756 pgs. 50, 51
Elliott (Ellett), William, son of William Elliott and Kerrenhappuck Johnson, was born in 1743 in Baltimore County, Maryland, and married Elizabeth Bishop, dau. of Roger and Avis Bishop. He was in Wilkes Co., NC by July 27, 1786, when he gave a power of attorney to Isaac Elledge to recover all his estate in Harford and Baltimore counties. On May 18, 1793, William conveyed part of a 98 acre tract called "Giles and Webster's Discovery" in Harford County, Maryland to Edward Ellett (or Elliott), the grantor being the eldest son of William Ellett of Harford County, deceased. "No wife joins him." (Ref: RWB, citing Harford County Land Records Liber JLG#M, folio 507, Wilkes County Will Book 2, page 193 and information from Allen L. Poe, of North Carolina. Also, see Henry C. Peden's Marylanders to Kentucky, 1775-1825, page 47 (1991).

**Samuel Bishop is gone before 1790 from Wilkes, but there is a Samuel in Lauren's Co., SC with (1, 1, 2, -, -) If this is the same Samuel, then there are 2 males gone from 1787. ????

Is Elizabeth Elliott -Wilkes Co., 1790 the dau. of Roger, Sr. & Avis Bishop??? As a widow, she would have probably stayed in the same county as her brothers Roger, Jr. & Frank/Francis? Elizabeth Bishop is found on Wilkes Co. Poll lists for the years 1788, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 & 94.
Was she in fact the widow of Thomas????? Or is the William Elliott in Surry Co. actually her husband??? Then who is the Elizabeth Elliott in Wilkes Co.???? Does anyone have marriage proof for both William Elliott and Thomas Elliott??? Was Thomas maybe a William Thomas????
Any help with this would be most appreciated. Thanks.
