June, Do you have any information on an Ellett in GA in the early 1800s. I am looking for the parents of my 3xgreat grandmother, Nancy Ann Ellett, born Mar 1821 near Newman, GA. Supposely her parents were killed by indians and she was found wandering in the woods by neighbors. She did not know her parent's names so she must have been very young at the time. She did know that she had a brother named William. She was raised by a Dr. Kimball and his wife and ended up in Tallapoosa Co, AL where she married Alexander Hamilton Ledbetter in 1841. Marriage records show her surname spelled ELLETT, but over time this spelling has been changed to ELLIOTT. Nancy died in 1901 in Tallapoosa Co, AL. Thanks. Curt Ledbetter
