Searching for family of ancestor..Amanda Ellett born 1818 on Indian Reservation (Jackson County, Al) and who married Jessie Edwards 1841 in Madison County, Alabama...Children include Sarah Francis,Hannah Catherine,John Henry (b1850) and James Riley Edwards (b1852)..Amanda died about 1868..buried at Baker/Edwards Family Cemetery in Madison County. Amanda is thought to be the daughter of Joseph Ellett..who received a 640 acre reservation by the treaty of 1817... Joseph recorded a deed 1825...Madison County, Al in which he states that he is full Cherokee, while childen including Joseph Ellett,Jr. or one quarter Cherokee...(The immigration role of 1817 to AK..lists James, John, Joseph Jr. and Richard Elett... (Does anyone else have Ellett connections to Joseph Richard Ellett of early Madison County? would like to share info. The Joseph Ellett Reservation is in Jackson County, Al at the site of the Woodville High School...has anyone researched this family?
