I am descended from the Roseneath Ellenor's a George D Ellnor b.1833,d.1874 & married Apr.2,1857 to Mary Margaret Cathey (nee Lever), her second marriage, b.1831,d.1915 Sydney Twp. Ont. She had two daughters by her first marriage and three daughters and a son by her second marriage. He was John Lever S. Ellenor, my grandfsther, b.Sept.8,1862,Roseneath, d.Dec. 17,1957 Toronto.He married Jane Thompson (b.Feb.21,1863,d.Apr.23,1943, Toronto) in Belleville, Jan 15,1882.They had 6 daughters and 2 boys, one being my father George H. Ellenor b.Mar.20,1892, d.Nov.21,1951.
I have also traced descendents of William Ellenor b.1837, d.1926, married twice 1/ m.Feb 29,1869 to Theressa Thakerey b. 1842, d.1879? 2/m. May 17,1878 to Jane Halstead b.1849, d.1901. In the two Marriages there were 6 girls and 2 boys.
John b.1865, d.1898, & Hartley B. 1889, d. 1966, Oshawa.
There is also William Case Ellenor b.1845, d.1927 Bowmanville, who married Martha Cherry b. 1840, d.Feb.24,1925. They had 2 girls & 2 boys, Robbie & Albert b. Mar 28,1868. Boyh boys died before puberty.
I also have John Ellenor B.1897? married to Mary Kent who is indicated from the Peterborough Genealogy files to be father Edward Ellenor b. 1837 but this puts him born 15 years after the 4 children that you list between 1820 & 1823.Most of your info I have verifeid through graves, census, etc.
These three families all lived in Roseneath in the late 1800's plus a fourth couple who moved to a farm east towards Warkworth, but had no children.
I have been trying to link thse families but have had no success. If John, born in England,is the father of George D. my seach will go to England.
I have some more leads to follow up and will share that with if it develops. If you have anything more please advise.
