At last someone who is researching in Europe!
My family research is in Switzerland primarily and the furthest back is Ulli Ellenberger born in 1590. The Ellenbergers apparently originated in the area of the Donner mountains and became scattered throughout the Rhine area.
I have original paperwork for my research as several members of the family have, at various times, kept records. Other names included through marriage are Moser; Ruer;Burger; Aschlimann;Geller;Garner;Ryser, Aebi; Widmer;Kaspar;Brand; Raetz .
There is a marble plaque in Berne Cathedral with the names of five of them who were killed by the French in the 1770(?) war.
I have over 2500 names in the family tree and would be interested if any match yours.
