You may be correct. Have Ellegood/Alligood in that area of Virginia from 1621. The Ellegoods and Alligoods have the same common anscestor. Many of the early male names I have either have no maiden name of the wives or their wife's name is unknown. Please provide me with some female names in the time period you are interested in and I will check data for a possible connection. Please let me know as much data for ID purposes as possible, dates, etc. In my data is a large amount of data from wills, deeds, and other research on the Ellegoods and Alligoods in and around Northampton County, Virginia. My branch, which is Alligood, moved to eastern North Carolina in the early 1700s. The Alligood spelling branch moved into North Carolina, some later to Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. The Ellegood spelling branch moved into Deleware, Maryland, Canada, and into the upper mid-west, Illinois, Kentucky, etc. May data is mostly on the North Carolina branch of Alligoods, but have bits and pieces of other branches.
Regards, Gil Alligood
