Hi Doris--we may be cousins!

My mom says when she was a child she and her family used to go to Lincoln, Ill. from St. Louis, Mo. to visit the old folks there. She thinks that these were the grandparents of her father. Her name is Rose Ellegood, her Mom and Dad were Norman Walter and Martha Elizabeth Ellegood. It has been reported by a couple members of the family, to me, that the Family name was Elgard in Jutland, and that our family was descended from Danish kings. We would love to hear from you about this legend. Do you know anything of Walter Crittenden Ellegood who was tobacco commissioner to King George and lived in Virginia? Nice to meet you! Thank you in advance for any family history you may be able to reveal.
