Have you ever found the origin of the Eline surname? I was
looking at a "Heraldic products" website & entered the name
Eline to see what I got. I don't know the reliability of this info but it rings true with what I've been told that the family came from Germany (not Norway like the given name
does). The info said it originated in Bavaria & traces the
ancestral roots back to Teutonic origin. Please let me know
what you think. I have no idea who my father's people are.
I posted a notice on July 24th but have had no reply. My
father was Charles Edward Eline born Nov 12, 1902. His mother was Della Leschey. He had a maternal half sister named Katharyn (Leschey-?) & I've come to learn he had a paternal half sister named Myrtle or Susan Eline who may have lived in McSherrystown, PA. Any of this fit with what
you know of your family?
