Hi Kelly Saw your notice a few days ago and got reasonably excited!! My 3x G Grandfather William Britt SELBY married Mary Ann ELIAS October 1859 in Woolwich, Kent. Her father was named as John ELIAS, Butcher, on the marriage certificate. Unfortunatly Mary died in January 1865, aged 37 years in Pimlico. In August 1866 William married again to Eliza KITSON in Everton, Liverpool. I descend from the first son of this second marriage (George Britt SELBY, b. Sept 1866). As William originally came from Kent, married in London and seemed to live there for a few years I had been wondering what took him to Liverpool - now I think I know. His first wife was from there!! Does this mean that William and Mary had children and that William took them to live near their Grandparents??? (I don't have much info on the ELIAS's). William was also a steward, on ships. Unfortunately I can't find them, although I do have the children from the second marriage. I have in my possession an e-mailed copy of a photo from another SELBY relative that proports to be William's children as adults. There are seven shown and I know who only four of them could be - could the other three be from this first marriage?? Look forward to a response soon. Notify Administrator about this message?
