Clipping found in old 1860s book:

Mrs. Elgin, wife of W M Elgin, of Weavers Station, died at her home Sunday last, of typhoid Pneumonia, after a brief illness. She was a most excellent, Christian woman, and her untimly death is deeply mourned by friends and relatives through out the county. Her sickness was brought on by untiring devotion at the bedside of two sick children., one of whom died. In nursing the other back to life, she sacrificed her own. Who can measure the depth of a mother's love? Her stricken husband and near relatives have the sympathy of our people.

(2 other clippings found in the book are of the marriage of Richard P Nabors of Ohatchie on Sunday May 12th to Miss Hannah Brock or Miss D Brock of Peaceburg..both bride and groom of Calhoun County Alabama. ..residence of bride's mother at Morrisville Alabama. Dont know if they are related to the Elgins; the clippings were found together in an old Civil War Shakpespeare book.
