His father was William George Eldridge born at Hooe, Sussex on 19/5/1878. Then William's father was Edmund bpt 10/6/1854 at Udimore, Sussex. I can go further back but I hit a wall with Edward born 1738 married Jenny Smith and an Edward who married Pheobe Hook in 1788. I need to know if these are one man and if not, who are the parents of the second. Because it is before 1837 there are no records on Free BDM. Hope you can help. Doug.
