I am Douglas Eldridge and I live in Brisbane, Australia.
You mention a William Eldridge living about 1545 in Sussex England. William is a very common name and there are some in my family tree. The earliest that I have was born abt 1730 and because you have gone further back than I, would you mind checking your tree for a William married to Sarah last name unknown but born abt 1730 and died abt 1784 most likely at Brede but not for certain.
Also , I would be interested in the linage of the two who migrated to Australia. The fact that they passed on recently would indicate that they were born in early 1900s just as my father was. He was Charles Leonard Eldridge , born at Northiam ,Sussex, England in August 1906.
It would be great to find that we have a link.
