I've posted something similar in the message lower on this web page, The ELDRED "Common Thread". You may be interested to read that. I am learning quickly that there is not a quick easy answer to the Eldred-Eldridge link. There were many Eldred and Eldridge immigrants in later years from the "three brothers". Many Eldreds and Eldridges DO descend from them, but many also DON'T. I had a secret hope in the back of my mind that this would all tie neatly together. But it doesn't. I have an ancestor, Thomas Eldred who was married to Hannah Congdon who died in Philadelphia in 1786, I believe. I wonder if there is any connection there. He was a descendant of Samuel Eldred (one of the "three brothers").
