Hello, Ray,
Evelyn told me about a 2nd cousin of hers named Ray from Brockton, and that we are all descended from one Horace Eldridge.
Have I reached the party to whom I am writing?
Tee hee!
I've copied your genforum posting from last July here:
You wrote: I am looking for information on Horace Bernard Eldridge who was married to Laura A. Smith Feb. around 1840 in Becket, MA. His son Albert Eldredge, my great grandfather, was married to Minnie Carto in Ware, Ma.
I say: Then Horace's children (including Albert) would have been born in the 1842-1860 time frame, right?
My Eldridge connection is: my great-grandmother was Effa Eldridge, born September 21, 1866 in Monson, MA. (Parents: Horace E -- born Sterling, RI, and Laura A -- born OH). I have her birth certificate. She married Henry Gordon Simpson of Montreal, and it looks like they settled in the Monson area where their children were born, including my grandmother, Ethel M. Simpson, who was born August 27, 1886. Ethel is buried in Athol (why Athol??? Who knows??). I have pictures of her.
You wrote: ... and had 10 children including my grandfather Raymond F. Eldredge who married Corrine Levesque.
I write: I don't know anything about these people, actually.
Evelyn seems to think we're related (she and I being third cousins) but she's given me no data on which to base that. She says you know the poop, and that she forwarded my info to you. I thought if I could contact you directly, it would be more efficient, so I prowled around genforum til I found you.
Are we talking about the same people, Ray?If so, let's share info!! If not, ah, well, that's life!
I lived in MA (Princeton, Amherst, Longmeadow, Wayland, Swampscott/Marblehead, Cape Cod) all my life till four years ago when I moved to NH. (I got deported for cause. Just kidding.)
Let's talk, okay? I tried writing you on your aol address, but got an undeliverable message. So I try this.
