Although I have not done any geneology research (I was looking up relatives' references), this story is similar to one that's been passed down in my own family for several generations (of Eldridges).

The Eldridges I descend from ended up in Philadelphia by at least the third quarter 18th century (we've got old records from that period). Anyway, the story goes that there were THREE Eldred brothers - one ended up in New England, one in the south, and one in Pennsylvania (like the three bears I guess). Further embellishment has them as Welsh Quakers, as these Eldridges were Quakers by the 1860's (GGGrandfather went to Westtown school somewhere in that time period).

Anyone hear of this one? Anyone know about Eldridges in Pennsylvania? Are they related to the others? More curious than anything else.

Thanks, Mary
