I am researching the Bishop family in Texas and ran across a Bishop married to an Eldridge in the 1880 Texas Census records. John Bishop born in Arkansas was married to Sarah Jane Eldridge Bishop, born in Texas. All their children were born in Texas and their names were: Joe F., Samuel H., Julia C., Thos. N., Robert E., and finally baby Newton. They were living in Brown County Texas in an area called Williams Ranch. I believe that the Joseph F.(Franklin) listed is my GG Grandfather. If I'm right, then Sarah Jane Eldridge is my GGG Grandmother, maternally. Hope this helps.
