I am trying to determine the Eldridge in my family. I believe that my gggggrandmother was Hannah Eldridge. This is only speculation but here me out. This Hannah from N.J. married Henry (Heinrich Cope) around 1800. Their son Charles named his child Henry Eldridge Cope... I do not know the maiden name of Charles's wife Mary as yet, (maybe she was the Eldridge) but I believe there is a strong possibility that this child was named after his mother's people...who according to church records were from N.J. Does this ring any bells?? Thanks, Bev.
