I also have an Eldridge-Marshall connection. Richard Eldridge (b 1855,in Bermondsey, s/o Edward Eldridge & Mary Ann Webber) married Charlotte J. Marshall (d/o John E. Marshall & Elizabeth M.) in Camberwell, England in 1891. Charlotte was born about 1857 "at sea." Her siblings were born in Camberwell. In the 1881 British census she is living with her family at Queens Road Manor Farm in Deptford, Kent.
Charlotte and Richard had at least one child, Mary Ambrosine Eldridge (aka Ambie), born 1893 in Camberwell.
Edward Eldridge 2nd and his wife Agnes emigrated to British Columbia around 1901, settling in the Vancouver area where he continued to support his family in the timber business. I know that's on the other side of Canada from Nova Scotia but ???

Edward Eldridge 2nd's brother, Thomas Brillet Eldridge, emigrated to Australia with his wife Emily Burgess, and his sister Sara emigrated to New Zealand with her husband William Lewis.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Best, Mary in Maryland, mdh12937@aol.com
