The info I have on David Eldridge, twin born 1734 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ is as follows:
David's Father and Mother were: THOMAS ELDRIDGE born 1/2/1680-81 in Driffield, Gloucestershire ENG. and died 1744 in New Jersey. He married HANNAH DUNCAN, her date of birth and death are unknown.
Children of Thomas Eldridge and Hannah Duncan were:
1. SUSANNAH ELDRIDGE, b. Bet. 1733-1734 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ, m. (1) MICAJAH COLLINS; m. (2) EZEKIEL HUTCHINSON, 6/5/1749 in Greenwich Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ, d. Aft 1782.
2. DAVID ELDRIDGE (twin), b. 1734 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester CO. NJ?, d. 6/18/1823 in Woodbury NJ.
3. JONATHAN ELDRIDGE (twin), b. 1734 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ, d. Abt. 4/22/1775, Chester Co. PA.
4. WILLIAM ELDRIDGE b. 4/1/1738 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ?, d. 1/1/1716 near Swedesboro, Salem Co. NJ.
DAVID ELDRIDGE (twin) b.1734 in Deptford Twp. Gloucester Co. NJ?, died 6-18-1823 in Woodbury NJ. He m. (1) SARAH CHEW 11/1/1758 in Christ Church Philadelphia, daughter of JEFFREY CHEW and AMY DRIVER. She was b. 1737 and d. 8/10/1771. He m. (2) REBECCA MOFFETT 1774 in Gloucester Co. NJ, daughter of ARCHIBALD MOFFETT. She was b. 1756, and died 2/9/1819 in Woodbury NJ.
NOTES ON DAVID ELDRIDGE: David made the oath of allegiance 7/30/1782. There is/was a Revolutionary War Veteran marker on his grave. David was the owner of a large plantation in Mantua Twp. known as the "Marl Hole" property, which was later owned by Nathaniel Chew. The 'Old Nathaniel Chew' burial ground has disappeared, and the stone inscriptions were placed on a monument in the Methodist Cemetery on the Mantua-Sewell Road.
David is buried in the Chew Family Cemetery in Mantua NJ.
