Hello, My name is Kristy Newman Rochat of Knoxville,TN. I have many Eldridges on my mother's side of the family. My mother's full name is Mary Eliza(not Elizabeth)Heaton Newman. Her parents were William H. Heaton and Mary Magdelene Kroeger both of Hamilton Co.,TN. My fourth g grandparents were James T. Gardenhire and Sarah PathKiller of Roane CO,TN. Sarah was one of three children of whom PathKiller, a prominent Cherokee Indian Chief, was her father and her mother was Sooky Martin,a white woman. All from Roane CO,TN. The three children were-Archilles who went on the Trail of Tears,Alcey who married a Taylor Eldridge.These people had a Elvira Eldridge who married Eli Ssanders. Then a Jefferson Eldridge who married a Rachel Blair. Jessie R. Eldridge, Peggy Eldridge,Minerva Eldridge who married a Terrell and a Silas McPherson and there was Betsy Eldridge. Alcey PathKiller married a Williams guy,then she married a Dave Sanders. They had Lizzie Sanders,Mary Sanders,and Betsy Sanders. If any of these people sound familiar to you,I'll e-mail you back with their dates,etc. Sarah PathKiller married a James T. Gardenhire. They had three daughters. They were-Sarah Emoline Gardenhire,my third g grandmother, who married a Josiah Heaton.Both of Roane CO,TN. Then there was Emoline's sister,Easter Jane Gardenhire who married a J.B. Edwards and a Hambrich.Then there was the third daughter,Sarah Elizabeth who married a John Anderson Kimbrough and a Charles McCaleb. James T. Gardenhire also had an aunt by the name of Elizabeth Aa. Gardenhire who married a Jesse Eldridge. Then James also had a brother, George Washington Gardenhire who had a daughter,Elizabeth ,who married a J.B. Eldridge.Then James had another niece,Isabella Gardenhire, who married a Jesse M. Eldridge and had the following children-Nancy who married a Samuel Maddox,Lilllie B. who married a A.E. Bell,Martha who married a James Frankline Johnson,Callie Safronia who married a James Adkins McKenzie and George W. Eldridgee who married Mary Isabella Henry. So, as you can see I'm surrounded by Eldridges and some Kimbroughs. I'm eager to hear from you soon.
