Hi, Linda!Several places to look.http://www.nara.govhttp://www.nara.govand http://www.nail.govhttp://www.nail.govand search online libraries in Tenn, especially Indian Territory eastern Tenn.It is very difficult to determine. When Indian women married white men they usually took an english womans first name and husbands last name. When Indian man married white woman, he usually took her surname and english mans name. This is one of the reasons it is difficult to research. There were also Eldridge descendants of Pochontas. She married Thomas Eldridge. Also, if you are familiar with Cindy's or Cindi's listonline website/homepage you may want to browse thru it too, but do remember to document everything. One thing to do is if you can get death certificates of your grandparents, it should list, their childrens names, place of birth, place of death, and their parents names. Then you work backward.Hope all this helps and is not too confusing.Good luck, stay in touch.Maybe we will link up.Martie
