I suspect that you may be descended from Edward Jarvis Eldred who emigrated from the U.K about 1798. He had, I understand, a daughter Harriett Eldred and several sons, including a George Jarvis Eldred and a Charles Jarvis Eldred (who became a judge), born in the U.S.A. Edward Jarvis Eldred was, I believe, the son of Dodson Eldred and Dinah Jarvis who were married in 1762 and later lived at Norwood, London. It is not my branch of the family but I know something about it from information kindly provided to me here in the U.K. by the widow of the 3rd great grandnephew of Edward Jarvis Eldred!
