Never fear girl, I still have them sitting here in my home office, hoping someone would eventually claim them.
I have been doing genealogy for years and when I seen them coming thru I knew someone would be heart sick to lose them.
We normally are not allowed to pull items out of the system regardless of value either monetary or sentimental.
Luckily that first night I had an equally sentimental supervisor. It took me a while but I convinced him to help me get them out of the building, under the condition that if I could not find the owner, I would bing them back. He has been bugging me to return them and send them off to the dead letter place in Atlanta where they would disappear down a "black hle" and never be seen again.
Contact me direct at cyoungersr@comcast.net and we will figure out a way to get everything I managed to save back to you. I gathered these over a 3 to 4 night period as they fell down thru the postal machinery and made their way to the "fix-it" part of the operation. I am sure there are some pictures missing, but think I probably managed to find 90% or more of them.
Just so glad to have finally heard from someone. This makes me feel good as a genealogist and makes me glad as a mailhandler that I wnet the extra step.
