Back to how Samuel, Robert, & Wm are related
I've gone through all of my notes, especially the postings by Vernon and Jerry (see series, How are Samuel, Robert, &William Related?, beginning 11-16-00).Here is what I have gleaned (in a very small nutshell):And I'm still confused. We have...
I. John Eldred, b. abt 1500, of Gasthorpe, Norfolk, but made his will at Kenninghall, Norfolk (4-12-1555).
II. ?
III. Robert the Yeoman Eldred, b. abt 1565, mentioned as John's grandson, married Joan Clarke on 8-3-1594 at Banham, Norfolk.They had 8 children, including Henry; Robert (the butcher), b. 1600/1 at Banham; Walter; and William, b. 1610+/-4, at Winfarthing, Norfolk.
At this point, I'm stuck.And then, we also have:
a. Reginald Alred, who witnessed a deed at Knettishall in 1413;
b. Robert Elred of Knettishall, who married Joane (will 1485/6) and was either a son or a nephew of Reginald Alred;
c. Nicholas Eldred, will of 1566, who was likely a son of Reginald Eldred.
How do these two sets of people fit together (or do they)?And, how does William, who married Anne Lumpkin, connect with Robert the Yeoman?I'm certain of my line as far back as Elisha Sr. b. 1653; the rest of the line just seems to fall to pieces.Can anyone help?Thank you
