I'm researching the Elderkin family for my future sister-in-law who is an Elderkin. Marcus and Elizabeth "Betsey" Slocum are her great great great great grandparents. I was at the Seekonk town hall Tuesday and wasn't able to find too much but this is what I know. Marcus's middle name was Aurelias and he was born in Providence, RI. He married Elizabeth Slocum, of Seekonk, MA, on May 24, 1821. The Rev. John Pitman wed them. Her parents are, Primus and Mary Slocum. She was born in Rehoboth MA. She died Sep 3, 1855. Marcus and "Betsey" had at least 4 sons. Marcus, Charles C., John Lewis, and Jonathan Russell.
