From Lee Elder's book, in my copy of the "PETER ELDER" genealogy, (rev. 2000) lists
"HARTWELL MATTHEWS ELDER" on page 139.
"m. PARMELIA TIGNER, b. 06-26-1798, d. 05- -1848, TX.
"Hartwell died 05- -1844, Texas"
Page 140 has: "Parmelia: 55 in 1850"
Looks like Parmelia lived to return to Georgia,
but it doesn't say what happened.
Page 140 has daughter:
Nancy Tigner Elder, b. 1818 GA - d. 1899 Gregg Co TX
m. 1836 Joel Joseph Whitehead Hale, b. 1814 GA - d. 1854 Rusk Co TX.
I'll look for more of the children's entries.
