Nancy, by golly, I think you found the man I was looking for. The James Elder who died in AZ in 1912. I didn't even know I could find AZ gravestones..boy do I have a lot to learn! I'm not related to this Elder, but my great-grandfather Pete Gabriel of Florence, AZ, built a toll road in Pinal County, AZ along with a James Elder. What is fascinating is that his daughter (Pete's daughter) married a Jesse J. Elder so Elder is my maiden name. I can't find a relationship between Jesse Elder and this James Elder (although Jesse did have a brother named James but born way later (you also found him as a son of David Delaney Elder and Alice Willis). Thank you again, Nancy, I think we should patent you or something for your great research abilities.
