Arzberg, granted city rights in 1408.
Earliest Elbel found in 1495 tax rolls fro Arzberg, Hans and Jorg.

Johannes Elbel, 1666 - 21 Oct 1717
George Adam Elbel, 1706 - 1759, Nail maker
Johannes Elbel, 1734 - 29 may 1786, Nail maker
Johann Elbel, 1760 - 1823, Nail maker
Johann Friedrich Elbel, 21 Jan 1798 - 17 nov 1858, Musician and brickmaker, came to America on 13 Jun 1853 on ship Ocean.
Johann Heinrich Elbel, 6 Jan 1836 - 18 Jan 1924 Indiana, Cooper
Oswald David Elbel, 7 Jun 1866 - 28 Jul 1932 Indiana, Machinist
Carl Henry Elbel, 1906 - 1983 Indiana, Shoemaker

Me (private) I have some more detailed info but not much. Used to live in Germany and found relatives in Arzberg who provided the old stuff. Do you have any pictures of Henry Elbel d. 1924(Johann Heinrich)? I only have the one of him from his obituary which is very dark.
