Hi Jay. Joseph and Anna Ekis were my great great grandparents. Joseph and Anna's youngest child was Samuel. One daughter was Margaret Alberta. Alberta married Henry Jacob Seelbaugh and had 5 children, three living. She is still living in Youngstown, Ohio. The oldest daughter is Phyllis who married Calvin Watson. I am the oldest of their three children. Anna was a descendent of Theobold Mechling who came to America from Bavaria in 1726 on the ship James Lovell into Phila. His home is still standing. (Land grant from Wm Penn) Check out the Theobold Mechling web site.
Joseph served in the civil war. I have copies of his government pension papers. Hope this helps.
