Dear Loretta,

My family came from the Clarington PA area. My father was one of 13, my grandfather's name was Samuel Ekis. Don't have much history other than that. Most of the family moved to Marienville PA after the parents passed. The farm still exists (I think it has been about 8 years since I was back).

I hope this might mean something. I have been doing web searches for a family tree. Any ideas on where the Ekis name came from? I understand there are variants of this surname, which makes me believe it is english, but passing through Heathrow airport in London a few years back, a customs agent insisted the name was Lithuanian (Because he saw the same name on a Lithuanian passport).

Hope to hear more
