Dear Paul,

I noticed that you mentioned your family lived in the North East of England and have a great great grandfather named George Elliott.
I am tracing the descendents of a George Elliott a miner from Co. Durham whose wife was known as Jane Elliott but her full name was Elizabeth Jane Arkless (A.K.A. Jane Erkell) who was a midwife. My great grandfather Thomas Elliott was one of their nine children,he migrated to Australia in the 1880's. Robert his younger brother went to America in 1908.
