Have great deal of information on the Eilers family back to late 1500's.There is a lot of information that is not related directly to my direct ancestors.Have often wondered if the Iowa and Texas Eilers could have been related.Have just started to research.I live in Texas and my mother's family was from the Washington/Williamson County area where ther are Eilers and Kieke's.Back to the German Eilers. My great-great grandfather Alber Eilers left notes in his own hand that still exist and he leaves the latitude and longitude of his birthplace. He identified his place of birth as East Friesland.Other documents show that his ancestors were from Silland and Schleepens, Schortens, in Oldenburg. There was for some reason a move to Helgoland Island in the late 1700's, but they returned to the mainland.Albert Eilers married Catharina Isernhagen. Albert Hajo Eilers married Dorathea Ehlers who was born in Keil which is now Schleswig-Holstein, but at the time of her birth was in Denmark.Their son Hajo (Hio) Peter Eilers married Elizabeth Frances Keefe and later Pauline Schoenberg. If anyone in your family has ever mentioned that American movie actress Sally Eilers was part of your family then we are probably related. My grandmother, Frances Pearl Eilers, and Sally Eilers (once married to Hoot Gibson) were half-sisters.Sally was a contract player with most of the big studios during the 30's and 40's.Let me know if you are interested in any info I have or if you can confirm a relationship!
