Would like to share any info on one John EICHAR born 7 Aug 1825 in Greensburg, Westmoreland Co, PA.
By 1860 he is in Arapahoe Co, Kansas Territory as a single man farming. In 1870 he is in San Jose, Santa Clara Co, Calif. farming with his wife Harriet, and children Charles and Harriet (both born Colorado Terr.). In 1880 the family has moved on to Washington Territory, Whitman Co. with the addition of son John, also born in Colorado Terr. By 1882 he was at Rancho de los Penasquitos in San Diego, Calif, where he died of consumption in January. His son Charles died in October of that year also in San Diego. Charles' death certificate indicates that he last lived in Portland, Oregon before coming to San Diego.
I believe this man may have been mistakenly given the wrong wife and children in some EICHER genealogies I have seen before. Am interested in hearing from anyone who has info on where he fits into Westmoreland Co EICHER scheme. Thanks!
