Margaret - Actually, I think you will find Margaret listed as being born in PA in many genealogies. I also thought that was correct until recently. I ran out of time to look for more EICHER information the last time I was in Jefferson (a number of my families are still in that area) but I am hopeful that in the next few weeks I can spend some more time going through the newspaper archives looking for more information on the family. What I am really hoping to find is an obituary for either Abijah or my gg grandmother, Rebecca, that will shed more light on their parents. While I am almost certain they are brother and sister, I am more and more coming to the conclusion that they are not the children of Daniel Kern Eicher and Margaret Justice, but are instead the children of another Daniel and Margaret. I note that most of the family is listed with Daniel and Margaret in 1850 in Richland, Ohio and that in that census Daniel is shown as having been born about 1803. That date would be more in line with the births of these Eicher children. Daniel Kern Eicher is listed as having been born in 1822 and Margaret Justice as early as 1831 - which makes it impossible for them to be the parents of a brood whose oldest child is listed as being b. about 1827. If you have anything that would prove the Daniel Kern Eicher connection, I certainly would appreciate any comments you might have. In the meantime, I will keep an eye out for your Eicher family in my wanderings through the Greene county archives. Jackie Notify Administrator about this message?
