Hi Fauna. I am Frederick Ehrman Jr. and I think I met you father. I live in Coquille Oregon, about 60 miles south of Reedsport, Oregon. Shortly after I moved to Oregon I got a call and when I answered the phone "Ehrmans" a man replied "This is Ehrmans". It was Fred Ehrman from Reedsport and he said the new phone book he just received had my name in it. My wife and I went to see him and met him in Winchester Bay near Reedsport at a resturant where his wife Patty worked.
We had a pleasant conversation and he told us he was from New York State and had been a lineman or worked as an electrician. We also enjoyed Patty, she was a very pleasant outgoing person. I am sorry to hear he died. I see there is a Jane Ehrman listed in the phone book from Reedsport. I haven't met her and don't know if they are related. My grandson Frederick Tyler Ehrman "Ty" from eastern Washington saw your posting and e-mailed me and asked if I knew this Fred Ehrman. My father Frederick Ehrman Sr. was born in Germany and immigrated as a child to this country in 1890. The family homesteaded in eastern Colorado and then moved to the area near Brush, Colorado. The father Georg Ehrmann died in 1900 and the two oldest boys continued farming and ranching and supported the mother and the other five children. The Boys bought land in western Nebraska in 1906 and moved the family there in 1910. As the family grew and prospered the other boys purchased land and entered farming and ranching in that area. After school I returned to the "home place" and also was envolved in farming and ranching and cattle feeding. I retired about 15 years ago and traveled and moved to Brookings, Oregon. I lived in Brookings when I received the call from Fred Ehrman. This may be more than you want to know, however I did meet Fred Ehrman from Reedsport several times. Feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions. Fred Ehrman
