Wow! Thank you so much. I don't know if you knew this but my grandmother was named Pauline--I guess in honor of Minnie's mother? I guess that would make us distant relations.

Am I correct in that assumption--that Pauline was Minnie's mother? I am sorry, but I have so many questions. Why did Minnie make that statement about America, and what changed her mind? Do you have Minnie's mother's given and surnames? On what ship did Louis George Ehret come to Australia? Was he part of one of the groups of Lutherans that came over during the 19th century? Did Minnie's mother come over from Germany or was she born in Australia? Do we have lots of family in Australia, or is it a small group? Did Minnie meet Karl Tobener in Australia or in the States?

I don't know if this is old information for you, but I'll include it just in case:

Minnie Odella Ehret was married to Karl Louis Randolph Tobener. (I don't have information about the wedding date or location.) They had three children:

Pauline Tobener Lent b. 1918
Grace Tobener McNamara b. 1920
Theodore Norman Tobener b. 1928

Minnie passed away in 1994 in Clio, Plumas County, California.

My grandmother Pauline Lent passed away in 2008.

Thank you again. You've been so helpful!
