Betty, welcome to the family. There is almost certainly a connection, but I can't say for sure what it is.My Ehlers family info only goes back to Eberhardt Ehlers b ~1820's. His grandson Henry was born in Wildehausen, Germany and is the ancestor that came to the US. Eberhardt>Friedrich Herman Gustav Henrich>Henry Christopher Eberhard (b1853).
Henry had two siblings Marie (b1842, and Eberhard/Carl (b1845).
Friedrich was born in Holstein Germany.
Ok, here's the (sort of) connection. My notes show that the family has a letter from Wolfgang Busing, dated 1980 that shows names of family ancestors etc.Wolfgang apparently sent the letter from Oldenburg. My note alludes to names of other family members.I'll contact the relative that I think has that info.
