Fred A and Amelia Ehlers nee Busse

I am seeking information on the family Fred A Ehlers and wife Amelia/Emily/Emma nee Busse of Wisconsin (Milwaukee?).

The 1870 census for Cook County, IL shows Amelia Ehlers, age 10, daughter of Christ Busse. Christian Busse was my grgrandfather's brother.

The Chicago Marriage index shows Fred A Ehlers and Emily Ehlers obtaining a marriage license on 2/25/1878.

The 1880 census for Milwaukee County, WI shows Frederick Ehlers and wife Amalie [sic], age 20.

I have a Chicago Tribune death notice for Christian C. Busse dated 5/21/1918 showing a daughter named Emily Ehlers.

I have located a Chicago Tribune death notice for a Emilie D. Ehlers dated 8/2/1940 which lists her as the widow of Frederick, and living in Elmhurst, IL at time of death. It indicates daughters named Clara Prescott, Millie Eichenberger and Emma Schlicting.

I know through family correspondence that Amelia was a close cousin/confidant of my great aunt Sophie Busse, daughter of my grgrandfather, Friedrich Busse.

If anyone has knowledge or information on this family I would appreciate it being shared with me. It is a piece of the puzzle that I would really like to fill in.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Busse
