I am trying to find out more about my Great great great grandfather who came from Alexandria to Egypt at the beginning of the 19th Century. There has been a story in my family that one of my ancestors was an Arab. I am British, but have traced one of my ancestors all the way back to your city.
I have recently discovered that Hassan Ali Medina was born in Alexandria between 1813 & 1815.
His father's name was Ali Medina
He had several sons - James Frederick Medina born in Alexandria in 1840 & Frederick Medina born in 1842.
He appears to have had two wives - Ann Holder Sommerscale born in Enland in 1820, and another named Ann.
At some point between 1842 and 1846 he appears to have left Alexandria for England.
Can you help or at least point me in the direction of someone who may be able me solve this mystery?
