I descend from the same branch, but through Amos II and Amanda Streeter. I just returned from Pendleton Co. where I copied the Barton Papers on the Egelstons. I am puzzled about the children of Amos and Amanda. Maybe you can help me. According to the 1840 Census they had two female children, one was age 20-30 and one was age 10-15. From the Barton Papers, I have concluded that the younger one was Patience who married Riol Payne, but on the 1850 Census the wife of Riol Payne is listed as Elvira. I can find no record of the other daughter. She is not listed when the estate of Amos and Amanda is settled. Do you have any answers?
