This is probably more than you want to know about Joseph. But here it is:
Joseph Eccleston's wife was Elizabeth Robbins daughter of Caleb Robbins & Jemimah

I'm including Joseph's pension records. If you find out who Gardiner was married to please post. I am collecting ALL of the Eccleston's of Joseph, son of Bigod.

2410 Issued Nov. 7, 1838, Act of July 4, 1836, Section three At $29.43 per
annum from July 7, 1838, Conn. Agency Conn & R.I. Service, Private

Applied for Pension Sept. 8, 1838, Age, ninety-three years Res. at date of app.
, North Stonington, Conn.
Elizabeth Egleston declares that she is the widow of Joseph Egleston a
Revolutionary soldier and U.S. Pensioner under the Act of Congress passed July
7, 1832.
She was married to Joseph Egleston January 17, 1769 in Exeter, RI.
Elizabeth Egleston's maiden name was not stated.

EGLESTON, JOSEPH - Comstock, Col. Lippett's Rhode Island Regiment, served
twelve months etc.
Dec. 26, 1832 Gershom Egleston of North Stonington, New London County,
Conn. aged seventy years a revolutionary soldier declares he enlisted in 1778
as a private in Capt. Christopher Brown's Company Company, Lieut. Elias
Palmer, Col. Oliver Smith's Regiment etc. When he arrived at Griswold Fort he
found in Capt. William Latham's Company of matross or artillery, Joseph
Egleston and saw him in said company from day to day until I was discharged.
July 22, 1834 Philip Prince of Preston, Conn, aged seventy-three years,
March 12, late declairs that he enlisted in 1776 served in Capt. Thomas Lew's
Company, Col. Christopher Lippitt's Regiment etc.
July 22, 1834 Joseph Brown of North Stonington, Conn., seventy-six years
of age on July 20 inst. U.S. Pensioner testifies in the case.
Joseph Egleston died July 6, 1838.

1772, Joseph b 12 Oct 1773, Thankful b 10 Oct 1775, Gardner b 17 Dec 1778,
Olive b 23 Aug 1781, Sabry b 7 Jul 1783, Lucendy b 8 Jun 1785, Nanny b 4 Jul
1787 & T___? b 15 Feb 1789.
