According to a manuscript genealogy written in 1902 by Abner Dennis Stultz, Nancy was a sister of Thomas Eggleton of Henry County. While there is no record proof, this tradition seems reliable. That would make her a daughter of Thomas (died 1775) and Nancy (Watson) Egleton of Petersburg, whose son Thomas (1764-1845) moved to Henry County.
