Hey Fred,
If, what you say about Dorothy Bigod is true then your theories are most likely correct. I will use your genealogy, although I will miss the Strangeways lineage, hah. I try to get the best possible genos off the internet and make my tree. I find myself frequently changing or not using information that looks bad or suspicious unless well documented. I just dated a Blades for 5 years and not looking forward to being related to her, j/k.
After going back into my tree I did find a whole new line for my most recent line of Gilberts so, any and all speculation is good. After looking at a few things I saw a book written by a Something Simeon Gilbert which would seem to predicate Simeon was indeed the name not Simon. My family is married into the Gilberts several times. It's funny how these allied families marry into each other over and over.
I do not know exactly where I saw that Bigod had a brother named Simeon but, I think it was the same place where I found out James/Jacobus possibly had a brother named Sylvester. I am often remiss in my documentation but, I find creating the trees usually excludes most of the wrong information. I find that even the smallest bit of info on the end of a tree can bring about new info and am not so careful there. I keep expecting to finish my tree to a point where I can go back and carefully verify information but, I never seem to reach that point.
