Eggleston Family Genealogy Forum

teri,
When my ggp's came to Mich from N.Y, they lived in "Climax Prarie" (sp?); there were several "Praries" in that area but I don't know which county "Climax" is located in (one of my cousins lives in that area and she tells me that it's still referred to that name at times). Anyway, my ggf (Titus Eggleston) had several sons and I only know the maiden name of the wife of one of them (it wasn't "Jones").
But I also know that Titus Eggleston had at least two cousins (they were in the same regiment during the civil war that he was in, the 1st Michigan Engineers and Mechanics Reg.). I'm fairly certain that these two men were sons of Titus' uncle, who came to Mich from N.Y a bit earlier than Titus. After the Civil War, Titus moved his family near Lansing. As far as I know, most of his sons and daughters (there were 13 of them) stayed in Michigan. My gf eventually moved to Jackson, where he married and had 11 children of his own, one of them being my mother. Don't know if any of this helps you but good luck on your search.
Regards. D.K
