Egginton family of Derbyshire and Staffordshire (1400 - 1900)

I am a descendant of the Norman, Storer, Anable, Noone, Brown, Watson and Walker ancient families who lived in Staffordshire (Bolde, Blithfield, Mavesyn Ridware, Newton, Caverswall, Loxley, Uttoxeter, Stafford, Lichfield, Ruggeley) and Derbyshire (Duffield, Belper and Holbrook) in the 1400-1900 timeframe.

Richard Norman of Holbrook Moor - WILL dated 1555 at Lichfield listed Anthony Egginton and John Egginton as his executors. John Egginton also served on the 1540 Inquisition in Duffield with Richard's brother, John Norman.

These ancient Duffield families travelled with the Earl de Ferrers to Duffield Castle, Tutbury Castle, Chartley Castle and Stafford Castle several times. Many of them served as knights and priests and property owners.

In Staffordshire, I have found Norman family members buried at Uttoxeter, Abbots Bromley and Mauvesyn Ridware as early as the 1400s.

In Derbyshire, at least 9 generations of these families are buried at Duffield Parish Church - St. Alkmunds (900 AD) near the old Duffield Castle ruins.

Would like to connect to others researching these ancient families of Staffordshire and Derbyshire England.

Nancy Norman Hopkins
