Cindy and others who have been researching Eggers in Missouri,I have been searching for gr gr grandfather for a long time.I have been told by several of my cousins that his name was Charles Eggers and born 1802 either in Germany or in Pa.The story goes that he married Mary Magdelene Haem about 1850.She came from Switzerland and lost her first husband and a baby on the boat coming over.Shortly after she married Charles Eggers. She also had a son by name of Andrew. It looks like that Charles may have adopted him and gave him his name as on the 1860 census he is listed as Andrew Eggers. There is also another story that my gr gr grandfather's name was Daniel Eggers. My gr grandmother was born 1858 in Kansas. I am suspecting that Charles and Mary Magdelene may have been her grandparents instead of her parents.According to the 1860 1870 censuses Charles was born in 1802 and Mary Magdelene was born 1815.The children listed for them were Andrew, Augusta, Daniel, Susan(my gr grandmother) Caroline. They were all born in Doniphan county Kansas. They were also found in St Joseph, MO just across the river.I am wondering if you might have some clues that might link this family with any of the Daniels found so far?
