I am looking for a birthplace for my greatgrandfather, George E. Egger. He married Honora Mantel (Mantle) and they lived in Elmira, NY. I've been searching for a link in Iowa, and coincidentally, the name Egr came up in Iowa. Could our name have been changed? Any info. would be helpful. thanks.
