From the information we have there were (and still are) Egger's living in the Caladonia Miss area (near Columbus). Apparently just after the Civil War several groups of Egger families moved to Ark.--ours to the Mena/Cherry Hill area of Polk Co. My great-grandfather was George W. Egger. He, his brother John M. and his father John J. (who fought in the Civil War) moved from Loundes Co. Miss about 1870. We traced our group of Egger's to North Carolina prior to 1820.
