My spelling is a bit different, Johanne Sebastian Egger. In 1630 (I think) the family crest was given to the Egger
family by an Austrian Prince or King. The location was near the Swiss Alps in Austria.
Around 1830-50 Johanne came to America.
1630 could be when he was born, not when the crest was given to the family.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Another spelling of the family name is something like "Eckager".
